Description
The first step towards attending group dog training classes is to attend or view an Orientation. This prerequisite session will provide the information necessary to prepare you for group classes. We will discuss training terms and equipment, dog behavior and socialization, and class structure so that you are able to jump into classes right away. After attending the Orientation, pups under six months will enter into Puppy Class. Dogs over 6 months old will enter Level 1 Class. Cost is $25 for each Group Class.
Class Passes are available any time for $225. You pay for 9 classes but there are 10 classes on your card so you get a free class. When registering for Orientation, the Class Passes are offered at a discounted price of $199. This gives a $51 savings, which is the equivalent of 2 free classes!
Training tools commonly used in group classes:
– 6 foot leash (retractable leashes are not permitted on the premises)
– Treats
– Bait bag
– Training collar (Scruffy Guider or Gentle Leader are preferred, but not required)
For those with younger puppies who will be attending Puppy Preschool, we recommend reading the AVSAB position statement regarding the importance of early puppy socialization.
