Indoor Training Arena Social Time and Obstacles is now available to current Misty Pines clients with dogs 6 months old and up that are housebroken and friendly with other dogs and people.

Training Arena Rules

Please be aware that there are inherent risks when dogs play together. They are active pack animals and they could get hurt when playing together. All handlers are responsible for the conduct of their own dogs at all times. Please be considerate and respectful of others in the training arena. Know and understand various dog breed’s traits and characteristics. If you are not sure please read them on the wall under the Wolf. Consider the age, size, temperament and breed of your dog and if they would be appropriate with the other dogs in the training arena. Please read your dog. Pay attention to what all dogs are speaking out about with their body language. If you are not sure please study body language on the side wall. Please understand Dogs are domesticated wolves that have teeth.

The simplicity of a dog is that they can be resource guarders of various degrees with their human, balls, toys, food, beds, etc. Please be aware of this and manage your domesticated predator and others wisely. Stay vigilant and pay attention to the pack of dogs that are currently in group play. 

IMPORTANT RULE FOR INDOOR PLAY:

When you observe the signal, which may be a light, a whistle, a bell, etc…, every 15 min. all dogs must be called into their handlers to sit for 1 minute to settle and then released to play again when the signal indicates to play again.

Please follow these simple guidelines to help keep the indoor training arena safe and fun:

• Pay attention to your dog, not your cell phone!
• ALL DOGS are to be watered outside.
• PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED.  Sign up for a time in advance through our website.  
• Use the dog training arena at your own risk.  Misty Pines Pet Company is not responsible for any injury to a dog or human. 
• Owners are legally responsible for the behavior of their dog(s) at all times.  If your dog creates an injury to another dog or human you are responsible for your dog and any expense this may incur. 
• All dogs must be current on Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella vaccinations. All pets must have received inoculations at least 10 days prior to their visit to Misty Pines. This includes new and updated vaccinations.  Dogs need to be free from any parasites and sickness.
• Dogs must be leashed while entering and exiting the training arena.  
• Owners must clean-up their dog’s waste immediately utilizing the pickup caddy if necessary.  Dispose of waste in the outdoor trashcan.  Do not leave inside or put in the human bathroom garbage or toilet!
• When your dog is off leash, you must be supervising your dog with leash readily available.  Dogs should be under voice control at all times.
• Dog handlers must be at least 18 years of age.  Children under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult and supervised at all times.
• Aggressive dogs are not permitted and must be removed immediately.
• “Yellow bandanna dogs” are not permitted.
• Intact male dogs 1 year and older are not permitted in the training arena during Sunday play sessions.
• Please pay attention and monitor your dog.  Do not permit them to become rowdy and bully other patrons.  Inappropriately behaved dogs will be excused immediately without refund.
• No treats, balls or toys are permitted in the arena due to resource guarding (possessive aggression) tendencies.  
• It is highly suggested that you have your dog come and sit next to you every 15 minutes while socializing.  This is to lower cortisol and adrenaline levels before they become overstimulated and behave in an inappropriate manner.
• Prohibited: Glass containers, Dogs in heat, Sick dogs, Aggressive dogs.

$10 per dog up to 1 hour

Hours are 10 am to 2 pm certain Sundays from Winter through the spring.
