Tether

The tether allows young dogs to have limited freedoms. The biggest mistake many pet owners make with their young dogs is that they give them too much freedom too soon, which enables the puppy to make mistakes such as; house soiling, chewing on inappropriate items, chasing and harassing the children.

The tether allows young dogs to have limited freedoms. The biggest mistake many pet owners make with their young dogs is that they give them too much freedom too soon, which enables the puppy to make mistakes such as; house soiling, chewing on inappropriate items, chasing and harassing the children. The tether will give you the ability to make breakfast with your children and puppy or watch a Saturday night movie together. Avoid the repeating of "NO" constantly and build a more optimal relationship by rewarding all the good behaviors that your puppy performs for you. The tether will give you the ability to manage your puppy's environment so they can consistently perform appropriate behaviors and live in a more relaxed environment. As your puppy matures, they will spend less time on their tether. While they are on their tether, you may want to give them a stuffed Kong to chew to keep them busy. Invented by the professional dog trainers at Misty Pines.

"Tethering has been a lifesaver. I actually think that our puppy prefers being tethered rather than the crate. She drags her pad from place to place to suit her needs." ~ Chris G.

Directions for Installation: Find a location where your dog can interact with the family, but not in the middle of a heavy traffic area where he will get stepped on, or where he will be able to reach the kitchen table or couch, etc. Stretch the tether out from where you want it and "puppy proof" the area (garbage cans, electrical plugs, cords, rugs, and anything you don't want chewed). Drill a 1/4" hole, 1 1/2" deep in the baseboard about 1" from the floor. Screw the enclosed 3 1/2" stainless steel eyebolt in using a screwdriver through the "eye." Attach one end of the four foot double ply nylon leash to the wall eyebolt, and one end to the puppy's collar and you are ready to go. To remove the eyebolt, unscrew it out of the wall and fill in the small hole with matching 1/4" wood plug or putty and stain to match your baseboard. Only available at Misty Pines!
